Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Fontainebleau Development. The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.


Scope of Position

The Sales Manager primary responsibility is to meet established sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis as outlined in the Marketing Plan and Goal Worksheet. He/she will develop and execute personal territory action plans, to include key account penetration and new account acquisition. Activities include, but are not limited to phone solicitation, e-mail blasts, site inspections, face to face sales interactions.


  • Identify and target prospective customers and new business.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for proposals.
  • Participate in sites, FAMs and industry trade shows.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with key customers and industry leaders
  • Assist in updating database on a continual basis, and performing periodic audits.
  • Understand sales strategies and tactics of competitor hotels.
  • Keep accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all potential business opportunities.
  • Negotiate all rates and contracts for group accounts within the guidelines of our budgeted average rate.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.


Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior hotel sales experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
  • Well organized and demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • JW Marriott, Marriott and/or luxury experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-sufficient, and a self-starter.
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns raised by clients.


4-year college degree from accredited university preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent group presentation, writing, speaking and training skills.
  • Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus. 
  • Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks. 
  • Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
