JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, MDS Communications is accountable and responsible all of Marriott Digital Services (MDS) engagement across internal and external communications vehicles including the MDS Decoded blog, newsletters, client educational webinars, client newsletters, MDS Website, and the delivery of the regular webinars / communications across all regions. This role is responsible for all program collateral and branding including brochures, infographics, welcome kits and renewal materials.

The Sr. Manager, Communications works across teams and departments in Marriott Digital Services and Marriott Global Digital teams to ensure awareness of the latest digital strategies and activation activity that applies to hotel activation.  This role is responsible for all internal and external collateral needs across Marriott Digital Services products and services. In addition, this role is responsible for the delivery of department client educational materials.

Marriott Digital Services (MDS) is an in-house digital marketing services team. MDS provides hotels with a variety of digital marketing services, and functions as an agency-like model within the Marriott International Global Digital organization.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, hospitality management or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (Communications experience strongly required)


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • This role leads all the client facing engagement efforts of the Marriott Digital Services team.  This includes;
    • Customer Facing Blog: Responsible for regular creation of content across MDS Blog changes, managing the content schedule and ensures publishing standards consistent with the blog objectives
    • mds.marriott.com: ensures accurate and timely program information; partners with sales to ensure quality lead process
    • Client educational webinars manages calendar, secures speakers and materials
    • Internal and External newsletters: responsible and accountable for the delivery and creation of newsletter standards across client services team.  Works with key leader among Digital Services to ensure timely information delivery.
    • Program collateral:   owns all program branding and development of collateral for new hotels, renewals and existing clients
    • Templates: owns the repository and accountability for creation of email, PowerPoint and other templates for use across Marriott Digital Services products and services.
  • Works with all MDS teams to evaluate and determine client needs for program collateral, manage creation and delivery.
  • Measures client engagement on webinars and calls and adjust content as appropriate
  • Localizes collateral by program and language, as appropriate.
  • Identifies and deploys digital solutions to collateral needs.
  • Manages the repository of client educational documentation across the digital services organization.


Owning Tools

  • Owns and accountable for development and enhancement of communication tools across MDS (Newsletter, blog, website etc.)


Thought Leadership

  • Continual education and self-growth through reading industry blogs, social media, white papers, cases studies, research briefs, etc.
  • Contributes to MDS blog and newsletter.
  • Works with vendors to capitalize on discipline expertise that can be leverages in client engagements like the MDS blog, newsletter and educational webinars.

    • 5+ years of Digital agency operations/Client Relationship experience
    • Wordpress experience helpful
    • Proven proficiency in website design, blog management and webinar platforms

    • Excellent project management skills with technical knowledge of ever-evolving web/digital marketing environment
    • Proven experience growing and managing a cross-functional team

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
