Newrest is looking for a Ramp Safety Manager to be part of the team for our Atlanta location. This individual will be responsible for enforcing safety policies, procedures and working conditions that affect the employee on the job.  Direct and coordinate activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee recruiting and placement efforts to ensure staffing levels meet requirements and exercise best possible effort to follow any instructions provided by Customer or their designee regarding standards, procedures and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including FAA, OSHA, EPA, US Dept. of Labor and EEOC. Investigate, report and implement corrective action for any incident of aircraft damage or employee injury and conduct/participate in employee coaching and counseling as necessary.
  • Managers must be able to conduct monthly safety meetings for all employees.
  • Coordinate new hire safety training and perform the safety training.
  • Able to communicate and instill safety awareness in all employees including new hires.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 year college degree in relevant field strongly preferred or equivalent experience
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, and a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to read, fluently speak, and understand the English language


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess valid Driver License
  • Must be able to pass airport security clearance and test
  • Solid understanding of OSHA laws, especially as it pertains to driving
  • Knowledge of airport safety regulations preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee is also required to frequently inspect the manufacturing floor and will be exposed to noise levels that may range from moderate to loud.
