The Role…

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Events Department, including but not limited to staff relations, member relations, as well as generating event and private hire business. Supporting the management team as needed.

Main Duties…

• Responsible for overseeing staff and ensuring guest and member satisfaction.
• Properly communicating with other departments regarding daily events/issues.
• Monitoring staff schedule to accommodate business needs.
• Responsible for profit goals of the food & beverage operation.
• Develops, maintains and administers a sound business and organizational plan for the property's food & beverage operations.
• Trains and supervises all employees of the department.
• Ensures that all safety and sanitation standards are in compliance with local/state health department regulations.
• Ensures all legal requirements are adhered to (I.e. Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.)
• Supports and implements all policies & procedures for the department.
• Participates in promotional/outside activities that are judged appropriate by the Club Manager to enhance the presence of the property in the  local community.
• Utilize a comprehensive network of personal contacts and prior clients to generate event and private hire bookings.
• Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, establish relationships with key new clients across different industry sectors and attend booked events to reinforce client service relationships and to explore potential promotional opportunities that might exist through utilizing Affiliate Marketing databases.
• Follow up on event bookings, ensuring pre-event information flow and client management runs smoothly, and that deposit, billing and invoicing processes are handled correctly.
• Build and maintain viable commercial databases across all relevant industries for e-mail and postal promotions of group collateral, offers, events and incentives.
• Make a point of knowing all major Lost Angeles based events - award shows, cultural events etc. and forge relationships with organizers to secure ancillary business.
• Work closely with Syndicate PR to ensure they are aware of the current private hire space specs, and have up to date images and info to sell the spaces to their clients.
• Identify what bespoke collateral (both physical and digital) the business needs, as it evolves, to effectively sell events, spaces to corporate clients and the public.
• Monitor communications activity of key competitor clubs and restaurants, informing team members of compelling creative concepts or innovative ideas we can appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements...

  • • Communications and/or Hospitality degree or 3+ year equivalent experience.
    • Hospitality operations experience in a managerial or training role within the hospitality industry.
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
    • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Must have supervisory, coaching and staff development experience.
    • Must have a strong business aptitude.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
    • Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 10 hours daily
    • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others
    • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 20 pounds
    • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required
