Job Brief: The Area Landscaping Manager will be responsible for overseeing the enhancement of green spaces across two luxury hotels, Constance Ephelia and Constance Lemuria. Collaborating with a renowned landscape architect, this role focuses on project management from inception to completion, ensuring that all landscaping projects align with the organization's sustainability goals and aesthetic standards.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead large-scale landscaping projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards. Work closely with architects and contractors to design and execute landscaping plans.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a diverse team including environmental specialists, conservationists, landscapers, and gardeners. Ensure the team is well-coordinated and highly productive.
- Sustainability Practices: Implement sustainable practices in all landscaping activities, including the choice of flora, management of resources, and waste reduction. Promote the use of organic and eco-friendly materials.
- Maintenance Oversight: Manage daily operations related to landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, plant health, and hardscape elements.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and environmental laws. Ensure all activities comply with local and international environmental standards.
- Training and Performance Management: Organize training sessions for staff on new techniques and safety protocols. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and use of machinery, equipment, and materials. Ensure maintenance schedules are followed to prevent downtime.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other hotel departments to integrate landscaping with broader hotel operations and guest experiences.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of project progress, staff performance, and resource usage. Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a managerial landscaping role at a 5-star luxury hotel.
- Skills: Excellent project management and leadership skills. Strong understanding of sustainable landscaping practices and ecosystem management.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Proficient in stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.
- Additional Preferences: Experience in the tourism industry and familiarity with environmental certifications such as Green Globe will be advantageous.
