Fondazione Campus

The Fondazione Campus was founded more than ten years ago with the idea of establishing university activities in the field of tourism and a professional school for managers in the city of Lucca.

Today, with an ever growing commitment, the Fondazione Campus continues to single out its field of action and interest in the areas of Tourism and the Territory and Management and Business, involving itself in research, university and advanced education through bachelor and Masters degree courses in Tourism, the Kedrion School, the Study and Research Center and the Language School. A modern Career Service office sees to the needs of the Campus students in connection with training and placement. Uniting all these activities is the educational method which the Fondazione Campus has chosen to adopt: a method which places in the foreground attention, care and respect for the students, whether they are young people enrolled in the bachelor degree course or professionals and managers involved in the different Schools.
The courses endorse the concept of tourism as an activity involving communication, crosscultural dialogue, economics in which traditional trades intermingle with modern professionals.
The MADE School, in affiliation with the University of Padua, offers an innovative post-diploma 1 year course in Hospitality Managment and Food and Wine. It is housed in the magnificent and recently restored 16th century Palazzo Boccella at san gennaro in the Tuscan Hills. One of the strong points of the school is that it is residential and all the students live togheter in Palazzo Boccella. There is a close link with the industry throught Workshops and Seminaries held by highly qualified teachers and professionals. The course is integrated with vocational guidance courses designed to tailor professional choices which are individually adapted for each student.
ITS in Hospitality Managment is the 2-years course which admits only 20 students a year and has its key factor in the involvement of enterprises in all phases of the training process, from the educational planning and the learning activities to the project work and the internship (minimun 900 hours) to be carried out at national and international companies. An official certificate of 5. level EQF diploma (European Qualification Framework) will be issued upon the successful completion of the course. With this school the hospitality industry will have at their disposal qualified employees with professional knowledge and practical skills useful to organize and manage the Front Office and Back Office Department, as well as economic and financial knowledge necessary to support the company in the booking, sales and revenue sectors.
Thanks to agreements with the most important private companies in the surronding area of Lucca, the School of language trains Italian professional in foreign languages and foreign professionals in Italian language. in addition to the companies, the Campus School of language is a tool available to alla sectors of Fondazione Campus, first of all to the students of the tourism degree courses.
