The Chefs Guild of Lanka is the national association representing professional chefs in Sri Lanka. Our organization is wholeheartedly committed to the growth and professional advancement of chefs and cooks throughout our island nation.
Founded in 1988 by Chef Neil Gow, the Guild began with humble origins. Over the past two decades, we have grown significantly and now proudly represent a membership of over 9,600 chefs and commis across the country and worldwide.
In 1992, at the World Congress in Frankfurt, the Chefs Guild of Lanka was officially recognized as the 37th member nation of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS).

Our Mission:
• To advance the goals of chefs and cooks by inspiring new ideas that elevate their professional standing across Sri Lanka.
• To enhance training and development opportunities by establishing culinary institutions—both in urban and rural areas—focused on cookery, pastry, and bakery.
• To promote the use of high-quality ingredients and up-to-date technical skills through workshops, training sessions, and collaborations with professional bodies, raising awareness of the value of Culinary Arts.
• To foster connections based on friendship, professional collaboration, and mutual understanding among culinary professionals.

National Event – CAFE (Culinary Art Food Expo):
Sri Lanka’s premier Food and Hospitality exhibition, held biennially. CAFE is the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the country, showcasing culinary excellence and innovation.
