The Graduate School of Tourism Management (GSTM) at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) was established to become a leading institution in tourism education, research, and development. Originally launched as a tourism study center in 2009, it was officially upgraded to a graduate school in 2013—marking it as Asia’s first graduate school specializing in tourism. GSTM focuses on integrating tourism and hospitality education with policy, planning, sustainable development, and management.
The school is committed to delivering high-quality graduate programs, conducting impactful research, offering training, and promoting tourism cooperation at local, national, and international levels. In 2018, it became the first institution in Thailand to receive UNWTO’s TedQual certification for both its master’s and doctoral programs, reflecting its adherence to global standards.
GSTM’s vision is to be a globally recognized center for tourism and service education. It emphasizes innovation, the integration of theory and practice, and the cultivation of ethical leadership. The school aims to produce graduates equipped with both academic and practical skills who can serve as future leaders, planners, and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector. Its mission includes fostering academic excellence, generating tourism-related innovation, and building strong public-private networks for sustainable development.
