GEA Alpine Center, the Swiss Business School for Hospitality and Tourism
Management was established in Switzerland in 1986 as a partner of IHTTI
International Hotel & Tourism Training School. Its mission was to take Swiss
hospitality education abroad to countries where tourism and hospitality were
developing.  The first Alpine Center campus outside Switzerland was established in
Greece in October 1987 and has graduated over 6800 students from 70 different
countries over the last 37 years creating a strong and active alumni.
It was the first private hospitality management centre of higher education in Greece
and is respected as a leader in its field. Swiss Alpine Center offers high-quality
education with a focus on its Swiss philosophy of ‘learning by doing’, where students
apply the theory learned in the classroom in a real working hotel environment with
laboratories for culinary, restaurant, front office, housekeeping, and event
operations.  Paid industry placements are an integral part of the programs.
Since the year 2000, GEA Alpine Center has continued to enjoy an excellent
reputation leading it to work very successfully with international education partners in
the UK, Switzerland, and USA.  Alpine entered partnerships with British universities
that validated its programs of study.
Currently, the Swiss Alpine programs that have been validated by Cardiff
Metropolitan University, UK are offered at City Unity College in Greece. These are:

 BA(Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management
 BA(Hons) International Food & Beverage Management
 However, Alpine offers shorter courses that lead to
 2-year Swiss Alpine Diploma in Hotel Management
 2-year Swiss Alpine Diploma in Culinary Arts
 Professional Qualifications in Food & Beverage Management
 Professional Qualifications in Rooms Division Management
