Run What Will Become the Best Beach Bar in Cape Verde

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced pair to take over the management and operation of Toca da Garoupa, a profitable beachfront bar and restaurant on the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde.

Following a full refurbishment in October 2026, Toca da Garoupa will relaunch in December 2026 as a premium beach destination, combining exceptional food, relaxed luxury, world-class hospitality, and one of the most beautiful beach settings in the Atlantic.

This is a rare opportunity for the right couple or partnership to build something exceptional while enjoying an incredible lifestyle in Cape Verde.

The Opportunity

• Full-time management role for 2 people
• Relaunching December 2026 following major refurbishment
• Beachfront location in Sal Rei, Boa Vista
• Open 7 days a week, 9am–11pm
• Approximately 45 hours per week, to be discussed
•  Ideal for a couple or pair comfortable living together

Package

• €50,000 salary per couple/pair
• €12,000 annual living allowance
• 20% performance bonus
•  Low tax environment and low cost of living in Cape Verde

Role Breakdown

Front of House / Operations Manager

One partner should have strong front-of-house and operational experience, including:

• Team leadership and staff management
•  Recruitment, rotas, and scheduling
• Training and service standards
• Guest experience management
• Daily operations oversight
•  Bar and floor management
• Driving a positive, high-performance culture

The successful candidate will be naturally hospitality-focussed, with plenty of drive and energy, as well as have excellent organisation skills.

Kitchen / Food Operations Manager

The second partner should have strong kitchen management experience, including:

•  Menu development and planning
• Food profitability and cost control
• Portion management and systems
• Supplier sourcing and relationships
• Kitchen training and standards
• Stock management and ordering
• Maintaining consistency and quality

This role suits someone commercially aware who understands both creativity and operational discipline.

Requirements

• Fluent in both Portuguese and English
• Strong hospitality management background
• Experience in busy bar, restaurant, or beach club environments
• Confident managing international staff teams
• Hands-on approach with excellent flexible work ethic
• Comfortable relocating to Cape Verde
• Passion for hospitality, beach culture, and creating exceptional guest experiences
