Freelance Chef-Instructor – French Cuisine & Culinary Experiences

-Freelance status – Hourly billing, from end of August-early September to late February

-Based in Versailles, France

The French Cooking Experience is a culinary workshop based in Versailles, offering immersive French cooking experiences in both English and French to an international clientele comprising tourists, families, couples, private groups, and food enthusiasts.

To cover a maternity leave, we are seeking a passionate freelance Chef-Instructor to join our team from early September 2026 to late February 2027.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead French cooking classes in English and French for an international clientele.

• Welcome and guide clients throughout their experience.

• Conduct tours of the Notre-Dame market in Versailles, showcasing local products, artisans, and specialties.

• Prepare and organize culinary workshops, adhering to established recipes and class structures.

• Adapt your teaching approach to diverse audiences: adults, families, children, and private groups.

• Send recipes and course materials to clients following each culinary experience.

• Ensure adherence to schedules and maintain high standards of customer experience.

• Participate in developing and adapting menus offered to clients.

• Handle the preparation, organization, and cleanup of the workshop space.

Candidate Profile

• Freelance status with invoicing capability (e.g., *auto-entrepreneur*, sole trader/EI, etc.).
• Culinary training/qualification (CAP, BP, Bac Pro, BTS, or equivalent experience).
• Excellent command of English is essential.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dynamic, warm personality with a natural flair for hosting and engaging others.
• A passion for sharing knowledge, teaching, and interacting with customers.
• Ability to manage diverse groups in a friendly yet professional atmosphere.
• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail.
• Experience in training, culinary demonstrations, or workshop facilitation is a definite asset.

Terms

• Freelance collaboration contract

• Period: End of August-Early September 2026 to late February 2027

• Location: Versailles (78000), France

• Schedule: 5-6 days a week depending on the class bookings

• Day off: Sunday

• Unique work environment in the heart of Versailles, serving an international clientele.
