Sumba Hospitality Foundation

Sumba Hospitality Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara that provides vocational hospitality training to the youth Sumbanese.
The Sumba Hospitality Foundation (SHF) believes that all young people should be given a chance to develop and create a better future for themselves. For this, we believe that education is the key ingredient.
By providing vocational hospitality training, we can give young people on Sumba the skills they need and create sustainable employment opportunities on the island.
Our aim is to:
Provide much-needed vocational training for underprivileged students to give them the opportunity of a new career
Build a model for responsible tourism, while respecting the cultural history of the Sumbanese people, through our training hotel Maringi Sumba and training restaurant Makan Dulu
Spread sustainable initiatives and techniques, such as the principles of permaculture, on Sumba and to create environmental awarenessMaringi Sumba is located in the heart of the Hospitality School’s campus in an idyllic setting. Student engagement and interaction help to create a unique experience for all guests who visit us.
