World Meeting of Families 2018

Dublin, Ireland has been chosen by Pope Francis to host the next World Meeting of Families from 22-26 August 2018. Held every 3 years, this major international event gathers families from all over the world to celebrate family as the cornerstone of our lives, of society and of the Church. Guided by the theme “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World”, the event will consist of a three-day joyful and reflective programme of workshops, talks and discussions for adults; an engaging and exciting programme for young people as well as faith and fun activities for children. This will be followed by a ‘Festival of Families’ event and a closing Mass. WMOF2018 will include exhibitions, cultural events and performances, events around the city, gestures of solidarity with those in need, celebrations and much more. A programme of catechesis is part of the preparation for this important and joyful international event, as well as a call to volunteers to welcome and host our international guests.
