The diploma is divided into 3 modules:
Developing Customer Service Skills - learn to work with customers, how to listen and communicate and more.
Developing Telephone handling and administrative skills - learn to deal with security, how to communicate via telephone, database management and more.
Developing Business Communication Skills - develop CV writing skills, business writing skills, interview skills and get to grips with the Microsoft Office suite.
Hospitality is a growing, diverse and exciting industry that provides an abundance of employment opportunities at home and elsewhere around the globe. The demand for hospitality graduates is growing each year in the global hotel, leisure, industrial, business, health and education sectors. This programme will give you the management, technological and operational skills you need to work in the international hospitality industry. Specific modules enhance the international focus of the programme and the international experience of the student. You’ll develop the strong communication, interpersonal, management and leadership skills that have been identified by the hospitality industry as essential for career success. Key areas of study are Communications, Management, Law and Industry Studies. Since European languages are becoming increasingly important, you also have the option to study one European language. Subjects studied include business communications, intercultural awareness, fundamentals of accounting, international hospitality industry studies, food and beverage practice, marketing, restaurant operations, hospitality management operations, bar & beverage management, hospitality information systems, hospitality law, and strategic management. There is a six-month work placement in Year 3. On graduation, you may proceed to postgraduate studies leading to the award of MSc, MPhil or PhD at research institutes and universities worldwide.
This is a course to help you write effective business emails in English. This course is unique because each module will provide tips on writing more professional emails as well as lessons to improve your overall English writing skills. Therefore, you will improve your grammar and vocabulary skills for email writing and also improve your cross cultural knowledge to make you more powerful and successful in your business communication. You will look at different email formats to analyze tone, formality levels, and various organizational styles. You will be able to improve your emails of introduction, announcements, requests and emails that apologize or revise a request. In this course you will write and revise 4–5 emails, complete several comprehension quizzes and review the emails of other participants.

The Diploma is comprised of six essential units of study, each designed to develop expertise in a specific area. These units are weighted differently and require different amounts of guided and private study time.

D1 – Wine production (20% weighting)

o Anatomy of the vine and grape
o Grape growing options, explaining and evaluating the different approaches and how these options affect grape yields, quality and the final wine produced
o Natural factors in the vineyard and how they influence the vine’s ability to produce grapes for wines of different styles, quality levels and price
o Winemaking and post-fermentation options and how they influence the style, quality and price of wines
D2 – Wine business (10% weighting)
o The types of businesses engaged in wine production and the options for getting wine to the point of sale
o Factors that contribute to the price of wine
o Key considerations in wine marketing
D3 – Wines of the world (50% weighting) | D4 – Sparkling wines (5% weighting) | D5 – Fortified wines (5% weighting)
In each of these units you will learn:
o How grape-growing, winemaking, maturation, wine law and wine business influence the style, quality and price of the principal still wines (D3), sparkling wines (D4) and fortified wines (D5) of the world.
o How to taste and evaluate still wines (D3), sparkling wines (D4) and fortified wines (D5) using the WSET Level 4 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
D6 – Independent research assignment (10% weighting)
o How to research a specified wine-related subject and clearly communicate your findings
