Position Overview

The Food and Beverage Intern/Trainee will gain practical experience in the daily operations of a luxury hotel’s food and beverage department. The programme provides exposure to professional guest service, restaurant operations and Marriott’s international hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.

Assist with restaurant, lounge, banquet and room-service operations.

Take food and beverage orders accurately.

Explain menu items and respond to guest enquiries.

Serve meals and beverages according to hotel service standards.

Prepare and maintain dining areas before, during and after service.

Work closely with kitchen and service teams.

Assist with special events, functions and banquet service.

Follow food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety procedures.

Respond professionally to guest requests and concerns.

Develop knowledge of menus, beverages and service techniques.

Complete other duties assigned by the Food and Beverage management team

Culinary Intern/Trainee

Position Overview

The Culinary Intern/Trainee will gain practical experience in the daily operations of a luxury hotel kitchen. The programme provides exposure to professional food preparation, kitchen organisation, menu execution, food safety and Marriott’s international culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparing and presenting food according to established recipes and standards.

Gain experience across different kitchen stations and service periods.

Prepare ingredients through washing, cutting, measuring and portioning.

Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet and special-event operations.

Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.

Monitor the freshness and correct storage of ingredients.

Follow food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety procedures.

Keep workstations, equipment and storage areas clean and organised.

Assist with receiving deliveries and rotating stock.

Work closely with chefs and other culinary team members.

Minimise food waste and use ingredients responsibly.

Complete other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or culinary management team.

Front Office Intern/Trainee

Position Overview

The Front Office Intern/Trainee will gain practical experience in the daily operations of a luxury hotel’s front office department. The programme provides exposure to guest relations, reservations, check-in and check-out procedures, problem-solving and Marriott’s international service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Assist with guest check-in and check-out procedures.

Confirm reservations and verify guest information.

Provide information about hotel facilities, services and the local area.

Respond to guest enquiries, requests and concerns.

Answer telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate department.

Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.

Coordinate with Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Maintenance and other departments.

Assist with room assignments and special guest requests.

Maintain accurate records using the hotel’s property-management system.

Follow hotel security, privacy and cash-handling procedures.

Support Marriott Bonvoy member recognition and guest-loyalty standards.

Complete other duties assigned by the Front Office management team.

Intern

Be at least 18 years old

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program related to your internship field, OR graduated from such a program within the last 12 months

Course leads to a degree or professional diploma

Course is at least 2 years in length

Course is accredited by your country's government

English skills sufficient to operate in an American workplace

Sufficient financial funds for program costs, visa and flights

Sufficient financial funds upon entry to cover travel, living and personal expenses

Trainee

Be at least 18 years old

Degree or professional certificate from a non-U.S. post-secondary institution PLUS at least 1 year of related professional experience outside the U.S., OR at least 5 years of related professional experience outside the U.S.

Provide proof of current and past related work experience outside the U.S., showing you are actively pursuing your career abroad

Training program must relate to your current non-U.S. professional work experience

Communicate effectively in English in a U.S. workplace

Sufficient financial funds for program costs, visa and flights

Sufficient financial funds upon entry to cover travel, living and personal expenses
