As a Commis Chef at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel you are part of a team that shapes the culinary experience of our guests. We are looking for 2 x talented and dedicated Commis Chef's to join our Main Kitchen & Pastry Kitchen.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare food and provide prompt, courteous and accurate service to all the customers as per the set standards.
  • Produce all necessary food for all food service operations as required and as instructed by the senior Chef.
  • Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the product presented.
  • Plating and presenting meal items as per the seniors’ instructions as well as judging the quality of raw material & providing quality finished products.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation and culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work well in a team - Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Food hygiene certification is desirable but not essential.
