  • The Sales Manager will ensure that sales activities, top accounts and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per available room.


Purpose

Assist with servicing of weddings and catering business from social and travel trade segments, while maintaining FS

standards. Support with all requirements for groups and communicate the needs and expectations of the client with all

departments in the hotel to ensure successful execution of group and client satisfaction. Independent charge of conference

services function at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita. The candidate in this position reports to the Director of Sales.

Job Responsibilities

General

· Understands the overall market including competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and

demand and know how to sell against them.

· Maintain a professional appearance at all times and personal /conduct behaviour in a mature professional business

manner when representing the resort or company.

· Seen as hands-on, assists employees in crunch times.

· Promotes and ensures a safe working environment.

· Flexibility to work to demands of the business.

Departmental

· Assist with response to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable wedding/social events business and

achieving Quarterly Goals.

· Maintains an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries.

· Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volume and

profit.

· Conduct property tours and entertain planners of meetings, social events.

· Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not limited to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning CS Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Bi-Monthly Board of Operations, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.

· Coordinate the efforts between sales and operations to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.

· Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. Prepare a monthly booking report.

· Keep Director of Sales promptly and fully informed of all matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.

· Review all function space with banquet manager. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.

· Assist with all guest inquires within the Sales, Marketing and Conference Services Department, including assistance with walk-in site inspections.

· Be fully versed in the facilities and capabilities of the resorts competitive set.

Special Requirements

· Holds a diploma in the hospitality field or any related area.

· 3-4 years’ working experience in a 5-star hotel as well as having experience in a similar role is required. International working experience would be an advantage.

· Have working knowledge of the Sales Division activities.

· Understanding commercial acumen is a plus.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Experience in performance management with employees.

· Fluent in English. Knowledge of foreign languages is a plus.

· Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power point).

· Fully proficient in PMS usage (Opera preferred) and rate configuration
