About the Job

The Front Desk Receptionist is a central part of the Front Office Team whose main objective is to ensure our guests have a smooth arrival and departure experience. As the first and last impression of the hotel, this high-profile department carries a special responsibility. The Front Office is also the natural place where guests direct comments, questions, suggests and concerns.

The Front Office Agent is a central part of the Front Office Team whose main objective is to ensure our guests have a smooth arrival and departure experience. As the first and last impression of the hotel, this high-profile department carries a special responsibility. The Front Office is also the natural place where guests direct comments, questions, suggests and concerns. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Checks guest in and out in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible. Assures that guest is assigned type of room requested and the correct rate is charged. Arranges for luggage to be delivered to guest room. Issues correct keys to the guest.
  • Checks out guest at the end of stay.  Ascertains guest satisfaction, posts late charges and presents bill to guest.  Settles bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
  • Utilizes a variety of computer systems and run daily reports.
  • Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; resolves minor customer complaints and escalates to superiors if necessary, assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc.
  • Responds to all guest requests in all channels in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person, by phone or through chat.
  • Assures that all financial and credit procedures are followed. Agent follows up on credit problems and is responsible of his/her cashier. Reviews all currency exchanges, cash and credit card payments at the end of the shift to ensure all transactions are reconciled with proper approvals and endorsements.
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure smooth handling of guest luggage, deliveries and special requests.
  • Creates opportunities for wow moments.
  • Handles group check-ins in designated areas outside the desk.
  • Accepts reservations, changes and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff. 
  • Answers guest calls and directs them appropriately in the absence of a Communications Agent.
  • Drives revenue through active selling.
  • Keeps all key information in our databases accurate and updated.


  • Qualifications in detail:

  • Min. 1 year of previous experience from a Front Office of a 5* hotel or similar luxury environment is required.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi task, to prioritize and handle stress.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and personal presentation.
  • Outstanding communications skills and command of the English language are essential. Czech or any other language is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Guest centricity and understanding the importance of guest’s preferences.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all types of shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Working computer skills and knowledge including but not limited to Excel, Word, Internet and Opera.
  • Must have EU work authorization.


What to Expect

This position is offered for a define period of time of 12 months with a possible unlimited extend based on your performance. Your trial period will be 3 months. Feedback is a key; therefore, you will be asked to give your feedback on regular basis and you will also have an informal chat with your manager and trainer.
