The Job

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Front Office Assistant Manager directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk to create a special welcoming and memorable experience for our guests. Their primary responsibilities are to ensure the smooth registration and cashiering functions of the Front Desk.

Responsibilities:

  • Review daily arrivals, VIPs, special request, group needs, room assignments and coordinate with other departments including Housekeeping, Accounting, Sales and Catering and F&B outlets, In-Room Dining and Culinary in relation to the needs of the guests
  • Work with Front Office Management and Director of Rooms on room availability and selling strategy to maximize occupancy, revenue and rates.
  • Prepare for and manage VIP's, return guests and group business together with Guest Experience Manager
  • Ensure hotel OH&S policies and procedures are always adhered to and respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Able to cross function within the Rooms Division, and other tasks or projects as assigned by the Division Head and Department Head
  • Inspect hotel perimeters during shift and check on VIPs room before guest arrival when on overnight duties  
  • Handle guest complaints and keep Management informed as necessary, and keep daily log of activities
  • Conduct follow up based on operation needs and guest complaint handling
  • Well versed with corporate initiatives


Requirements:

  • College Degree, preferably specializing in hospitality management
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role in an international luxury brand hotel
  • Able to work on shifts, including night shifts and have hands-on experience in Front Office operation. Housekeeping knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external customers  
  • Expected to be a culture carrier, has strong communication, problem solving, planning, organizing and influencing skills
