Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is hiring its Resort Manager!

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is an international  luxury hotel  and  resort  company headquartered in  Toronto, Canada. Four Seasons currently operates more than 130 hotels and resorts in 47 countries.

The Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is a luxury Resort in the heart of French Polynesia. Its 108 newly refreshed Overwater Bungalows and 7 beachfront villas offer amazing views of Mount Otemanu. Its spa and a large variety of cuisines (Polynesian, French and Asian) at the five on-site outlets offer a unique experience to our guests.

The position:

In this role, you will support a team of professionals whose primary drive is to create lasting experiences and memories for our guests. Our resort is a perfect blend of Four Seasons experiences and Polynesian culture. You will assist the General Manager with leading a team dedicated to helping our guests make our property their "home away from home" while in French Polynesia. You will need to demonstrate being a talented and strong leader who understands, respects and embraces the Polynesian culture. You are expected to have a strong focus on carrying the Four Seasons’ culture and values, being a mentor for junior managers, and communicating effectively to provide clear direction to the team. You will be focused on the product to be at the highest of levels: building on what has been achieved and proposing new elevations, with a specific focus on food and beverage to elevate the operation, guest satisfaction and service consistency. While doing so, you will understand Restaurant and Rooms operating budget, forecasting and labor management, you will plan and control monthly expenditure to maximize profits. You will have to attend functions and socialize, to help develop rapport and credibility within the local community.

You will need to have:

  • Strong and successful experience in Food & Beverage
  • Resort experiences strongly preferred to set the candidate up for success
  • French language skills required as much as English
  • Exceptional multi-area operator experience. Focus on driving exceptionally high quality product is crucial and the RM is accountable for ensuring the operational departments are delivering expected service levels
  • On the floor leadership style, driving service execution through staff and guest engagement.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to adapt to various audiences. A thoughtful, mature and diplomatic style is essential in order to be successful to deliver messages and goals
  • An excellent eye for detail, product quality, awareness of competition, trends, luxury guest expectations in a family/resort setting
  • Practical problem solving – creative solutions-oriented approach necessary
  • A long term/strategic outlook approach
  • Ability to manage labor standards in conjunction with business/product objectives in mind
  • Brand objective, local positioning, owner objective balance
  • Inspirational and task focus balanced approach necessary – ability to "dive deep" yet manage the "big picture.

• The patience and capacity to develop, coach and mentor junior managers with limited formal experience and exposure to international luxury service.
• Ability to seamlessly integrate expatriate managers and local team to deliver exceptional guest and employee experience

• Ability to teach, coach, mentor and inspire a young team.

Product
• Product obsession to be at the highest of levels. Building on what has been achieved and proposing new elevations.
• Ensures physical operations are maintained to company standards by conducting inspections of grounds/ buildings
• Identify operational challenges and facilitate the development of solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Attention to detail, style and aesthetics of resort is critical, as well as attention to product maintenance.
• Strong focus on food and beverage to elevate the operation, guest satisfaction and service consistency
• Heavy involvement in Capital Planning and a key stakeholder in all Capex projects.

Profit
• Strong understanding of Restaurant and Rooms operating budget, forecasting and labor management.
• Ability to effectively maximize guest ancillary spend.
• The ability to react and adjust to a changing business environment and lead the team in ensuring efficient financial management of the business
• Plan and control monthly expenditure to maximize profits.

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is seeking candidates who have 5-10 years of experience, can speak English and French, preferably French national or European passport for work permit purposes. The position is based in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
