Position Purpose
The Housekeeping Intern supports the Housekeeping team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest comfort throughout the hotel. The internship provides practical exposure to guest-room operations, public-area cleaning, linen management, quality inspections and departmental coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cleaning, preparing and presenting guest rooms according to hotel standards.
- Support the replenishment of guest amenities, linen and room supplies.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of corridors, public areas and back-of-house areas.
- Learn the correct use, storage and handling of cleaning equipment and products.
- Assist with room inspections under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, missing equipment and safety concerns promptly.
- Support the linen and uniform operations, including sorting, counting, storing and distributing items.
- Assist with stock counts and the organization of housekeeping storerooms.
- Follow procedures for lost-and-found items and immediately hand any found property to the supervisor.
- Respond politely and professionally to reasonable guest requests and refer complaints or complex requests to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry and other departments when required.
- Attend departmental briefings, training sessions and hotel orientation activities.
- Follow the hotel’s grooming, hygiene, confidentiality, health and safety standards.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor as part of the internship.

- Linen, uniform and inventory management.
- Safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Guest service and complaint-escalation procedures.
- Hotel hygiene, safety and brand standards.
Candidate Profile
- Currently studying hospitality management, tourism, hotel operations or a related field.
- Previous hotel experience is not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working in a physically active environment.
- Able to communicate in French and/or English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, in accordance with the internship schedule.
Physical Requirements
The role may involve standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, pushing housekeeping equipment and lifting light-to-moderate items, subject to applicable safety procedures.
Important Note
The intern will perform duties under appropriate supervision. The internship is intended to provide structured learning and practical exposure and does not give the intern independent supervisory, disciplinary or decision-making authority.
