Job Description
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Shift Engineer will be responsible for all maintenance issues within our hotel, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.
What you’ll do…
- Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel including any faults or repairs
- Plumbing – unblocking drains/toilets, repairing/replacing taps etc.
- Minor electrical works – replacing lamps/fittings, sockets and switches etc.
- Carry out Health and Safety tasks, i.e. weekly fire alarm tests, water temperature monitoring, showerhead descaling etc.
- Maintenance on HVAC systems, i.e filter cleaning/replacing.
- Ensure that the hotel is kept to the highest maintenance standards.
- Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests and concerns raised by guests and team members according to the hotel reporting procedure.

- You will be required to work flexible shift patterns which will include weekdays and weekends to support the team, as and when required.
- City & Guilds level 2 in any trade is desired but not essential.
- Plumbing and HVC experience desirable.
