Laundry Team Leader

At InterContinental Malta, we are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Laundry Team Leader to oversee our laundry operations and lead the team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily workloads, supervising team members, monitoring linen and uniform quality, and ensuring that all laundry operations run smoothly and efficiently.

This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high operational standards in a luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Your role will consist of:

• • Overseeing and coordinating daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and sorting of hotel linens, uniforms, and fabrics.
  • Leading, supervising, and supporting the laundry team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Organizing daily workloads, allocating duties, and monitoring team performance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensuring the proper handling, care, and storage of hotel linens and uniforms to maintain quality and extend their lifespan.
  • Inspecting linen and uniforms for damage, stains, or wear, and coordinating with relevant departments for replacement or repairs.
  • Monitoring laundry stock and supplies, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and requesting replenishment when required.
  • Ensuring that laundry equipment is used correctly, reporting maintenance issues, and coordinating necessary repairs.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety, and compliance with hotel procedures.
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping and other relevant departments to ensure timely linen and uniform availability.
  • Handling special guest laundry requests and ensuring that these are completed promptly and professionally.
  • Training, guiding, and motivating team members while supporting the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, and ensure the efficient use of equipment, supplies, and resources.

Skills and Experience

• • Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping operations, preferably within a hotel or a similar hospitality environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of laundry equipment, linen care, and fabric handling procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
