Overview of Position

The Host/ess is the first impression of Breakfast by MO, greeting guests warmly and by name. The Host/ess is responsible for escorting guests to their table, providing chair assistance for all guests and menu presentation. The Host/ess will maintain and monitor the reservation system and floor plan to ensure tables are turning efficiently. The Host/ess will also ensure that Breakfast by MO has appropriate ambiance including proper music, temperature, and lighting.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

• Assist colleagues in providing copies menus as requested by the Managers.
• Assist guest and colleagues courteously and efficiently.
• Confirm reservations and answer daily email inquiries in timely manner.
• Coordinate set menus for all groups and distribute copies of the event form accordingly.
• Share information of all upcoming events with the Concierge Team.
• Keep reservation books up to company standard.
• Check daily for our regular guest preferences and record them in our daily list for the service.

The Hostess will report directly to the Director of Bar Operations.

Requirements

• Have a minimum of 1-year experience in similar position in a luxury hotel property.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
• Be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
• Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation. 
• Able to work together with other colleagues.
• Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner.
• Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.
• Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
• Able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest
• Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner
