Job Summary:

The Banquet Chef is responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and is the first-in-command on a day-to-day basis, managing all other food preparation colleagues. This is a key position that drives the motivation and productivity of the culinary banquets team.

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Executive Chef,   every day is different, but you mostly be:

  • Supervising and managing the Banquet Kitchen team.
  • Developing and training colleagues, enforcing policies.
  • Leading and assisting in food preparation during banquets and events.
  • Maintaining clean and sanitary food preparation and storage areas at all times in accordance with state and local sanitation requirements and codes.
  • Preparing weekly kitchen work schedules and distributing them in a timely manner.
  • Meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Effectively responding to guest inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
  • Assisting Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Working with the Executive Chef to determine how food should be presented and creating decorative food displays.
  • Estimating daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicating production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Preparing and cooking food of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Maintaining purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.


What we need from you:

  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in luxury food and beverage production.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/Culinary certification, degree, or related training.
  • Administrative computer knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in an environment with time constraints.
  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written and oral.
  • Must have all necessary safety certifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Public Health regulations.
  • Able to stand and walk throughout shift. 
  • Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water. 
  • Able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly. 


What you can expect from us: 

The annual pay range for this role is  $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at  Regent Santa Monica Beach . This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A team member’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that is allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
