To begin in 2024, Rosewood Amsterdam is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Restaurant Manager who is a well-rounded and seasoned individual to be part of our team.

Profile

The Restaurant Manager ensures the outlet operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining the reputation and ethos. Responsible for the business performance of the restaurant, as well as maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety. He/she/they should act as the first contact person for guests and associates, with communication skills, are is/are a people’s person and a charismatic storyteller.

Responsibilities

  • Be fully converse with the outlet’s operation and efficiently manage the operation of all shifts.
  • Be a mentor to the team, providing coaching and feedback to maximize team performance.
  • Establish a rapport with guests maintaining good customer relationships and maintain positive guest and associate interactions with good working relationships.
  • Handle all guest complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved.
  • Implement luxury service standards by creating SOPs and monitoring consistency.  
  • Develop a culture of exceptional customer service and deal promptly with complaints to turn them into repeated business.
  • Review menu offerings and pricing based on market trends, provide feedback on menu sales trends to Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef.
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items on the menu and the ability to recommend Food and Beverage combinations, up sell alternatives and provide training, maintain knowledge.
  • Achieve restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meet the outlet’s financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement, monitoring food presentation and service.
  • Prepare reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales.
  • Accomplish the restaurant’s human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the Kitchen and Beverage Department on daily operations and quality control. 
  • Develop and Manage incentive programs for upselling and marketing promotions.
  • Manage booking system and guests table allocation and guests profiles.
  • Monitor maintenance and report of any issues and repairs that may need to be carried out
  • Provide excellent service to associates in other departments as appropriate.
  • Communicate LQA standards and expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position. Monitor progress and conduct the performance appraisals. Coaches and counsels associates and handles progressive disciplinary procedures as required.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Hotel Management Degree or Business Degree required.
  • 5+ years in a similar role.
  • Local knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Previous work experience with other luxury brands is preferred.


A work permit for the Netherlands, or EU passport is required to be considered for this role.

About Us

Rosewood Amsterdam will open in 2024 as Rosewood’s first property in the Netherlands. Housed in the former Palace of Justice, a building of great architectural, historical and social significance that overlooks the Prinsengracht (the Prince’s Canal), one of the city’s most beautiful waterways, in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Amsterdam Canal District. The hotel will be ideally situated near many of Amsterdam’s finest attractions including the museum district, the high-end shopping district on P.C. Hooftstraat and the hip De Pijp neighborhood. With its central location and an intuitive design carefully conceived to offer an inviting and amiable atmosphere, the property is poised to serve as an unparalleled gathering place for visiting guests and the local community alike. The property will offer 134 guestrooms and suites, with many boasting spectacular views across the two adjoining canals, quiet internal courtyards and iconic townhouse rooftops. Amenities will include three restaurants and bars; Sense, A Rosewood Spa; a state-of-the-art fitness center; and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, multiple event spaces and meeting rooms, including a 3,000 square-foot ballroom, will offer advanced audio and visual services and natural daylight. Decorative details throughout the hotel’s public spaces will pay homage to the signature spirit of both the building and city while creating a selection of differentiated yet unified spaces through subtle albeit impactful means, such as contrasting color schemes that seamlessly separate one setting from another. Notably, the lobby lounge will feature a library adorned with beautiful legal books doubling as art pieces, photographs and artifacts, as well as comfortable and stylish seating, to create an enticing enclave that will invite visitors to linger and laze. All public spaces will overlook the three distinct, internal landscaped courtyards of the building.
