Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be meticulous and proactive. As an integral part of our finance department, you will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to manage group billing and other receivables with precision and efficiency. Your attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction will be crucial in achieving our financial goals and upholding our reputation for luxury and excellence.

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, every day is different, but you’ll mostly:

  • Generate and process invoices accurately and promptly for various hotel services, including room charges, dining, and events.

  • Conduct a thorough reconciliation of guest accounts, promptly addressing any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Review the guest ledger balances daily and follow up with Front Office to ensure there are no open items after the guest checks out.
  • Proactively communicate with guests regarding outstanding balances, billing concerns, facilitating payment arrangements, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, implementing strategies to minimize overdue balances and optimize financial performance.
  • Review and respond to all chargebacks issued in a timely manner.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial information and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial reports related to accounts receivable, including aging reports and revenue forecasts.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external auditors, providing accurate financial records and documentation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, hotel policies, and legal regulations related to accounts receivable and billing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar role.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience within the hospitality or accounting industry.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Opera, Micros, and/or InfoGenesis is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
