We are the Indian restaurant Uit India and are looking for 4 Independent working Chef-I to strengthen our kitchen team. At Uit India, we bring an unforgettable culinary journey through Indian cuisine. Our mission is to bring the authentic flavors and traditions of various regions of India to our customer’s table. You will experience a taste explosion that stimulates all the senses. 

Do you have a passion for cooking and do you enjoy a dynamic kitchen environment? Then you fit in perfectly with us! You will assist in preparing dishes and work closely with our kitchen team. You can work both independently and as part of a team, and you feel responsible for a clean and organized kitchen. Our restaurant is located at Houttil 46-B, 1811JN Alkmaar.

Role: Independent working Chef -I

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare lunch and dinner dishes
• Carry out mise en place and other preparatory tasks (cutting, mixing, portioning)
• Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes
• Apply and comply with HACCP and safety regulations
• Manage inventory: ordering, receiving, and checking products
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces
• Contribute ideas for recipes, menu updates, and more efficient processes
• Supervising compliance with regulations and the work of the assistants.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

• Holds an MBO level 3 diploma of work and thinking level MBO 3.
• Has strong technical culinary knowledge and skills
• Shows initiative and can work independently
• Can handle stress and peak busy periods effectively
• Functions well within the dynamics of a restaurant team
• Speaks Dutch or English
• Is enthusiastic, dedicated, and eager to learn
