POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Sales & Events with F&B 575 LLC at Aman New York is a key position to drive sales into the Food & Beverage outlets while upholding the highest standard of authentic hospitality for our guests. The role markets and coordinates events on behalf of the Food & Beverage Department. This role oversees the collective coordination of all event information and resources, account management, sales prospecting, and business growth. They work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that company standards are upheld while not impeding the ability to deliver high-quality events.

 

This position has an annual compensation rate of $90,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and mentor the events team; providing daily guidance, continuous training and performance evaluations to ensure exceptional service and sales performance
  • Lead weekly planning and project meeting with events team to ensure goals and timelines are aligned and met
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and to maximize opportunities for the team’s development
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability within the team
  • Effectively manage a high volume of incoming inquiries, ensuring timely and personalized responses to each one.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of all events
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to ensure meticulous attention to detail and seamless execution from start to finish
  • Work directly with the Food & Beverage leadership teams to ensure seamless operations and flawless execution of daily event logistics & service
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the steps of service and be ready to assume the operations role of any event as necessary
  • Prepare proposals for clients and maintain well-organized event records
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel’s offerings, amenities, service standards and policies to effectively promote and upsell to clients
  • Uphold the highest standard of professionalism in all interactions with clients and all colleagues
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals for food & beverage outlets
  • Build strategic plan based on market segments for daily & weekly prospecting calls, lunches and site visits to potential clients
  • Prepare, analyze and present sales forecasts and reports to senior leadership, highlighting KPI metrics, trends and areas for improvement
  • Responsible for delivering all project and event budgets from the beginning to the end
  • Budget and forecast food and beverage events, room rental, and other revenues on a monthly basis with Regional Director
  • Create and execute quarterly and annual marketing plans of the events department (incorporating the group food and beverage sales contribution)
  • Negotiate agreements and pricing with clients and vendors by prioritizing our business
  • Conduct consistent market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth to remain a leader in the market
  • Overseeing the designing and production of all marketing collateral, promotion, and adverts
  • Develop & maintain strong relationships with event organizers and third parties
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners and hold these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events
  • Manage all collaboration, communication, & implementation of festive planning season for Food & Beverage marketing experiences
  • Support in providing updates to meetings on behalf of Food & Beverage department
  • Collaborate with Club Leadership on menus, timelines, floorplans and details of Club Programming events for Members based on historical data, demand and budget
  • Ability to be fully versed in all event space, facilities, and capabilities of competitive market
  • All other responsibilities assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar setting of multi-unit food and beverage venues
  • Must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment to achieve the hotel’s common goal of guest satisfaction
  • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
  • Must be personable with guests and be able to anticipate their needs.
  • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with self-starter mindset
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders
  • Multi-lingual is a plus
  • Must be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamic.
  • Must be fully on site; availability including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Have a thorough understanding of Micros, Tripleseat, Tock, Calendly, InDesign, Outlook, Microsoft Applications
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
  • Ability to work with multiple departments in a clear, concise and organized manner
  • Able to suggest and propose creative solutions to complex scenarios, contributing to a culture of innovation within the team
