Kitchen Steward

POSITION OVERVIEW

The kitchen steward is responsible for maintaining and providing clean and sanitary dishes for both staff and guests. The steward also assists with staff meals and the cleanliness of other areas as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Properly maintain and run the dish machine.
• Proper use of all chemicals and where and how to use them.
• Maintain the proper cleanliness of the kitchen, coolers, freezer, cafeteria storerooms and all walls and floors.
• Ensure that all food, chemicals are stored properly when orders arrive. 
• Make sure the line, pastry, and restaurant have the service ware needed for the day (i.e. proper flatware serving utensils, plates and cups).
• Sweep and mop floors when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Oral proficiency in the English language.
• High School graduate or G.E.D.
