Description
The hotel manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel’s operation; working collaboratively with the different departments in the support office, creating the optimal working climate to enable the hotel team to deliver the desired guest experience

Key Responsibilities
  • actively seek ways to deliver a memorable guest experience at citizenM and empower and inspire the hotel team to do the same
  • lead, train and coach the hotel team to improve service and to support the operational success of citizenM
  • develop and nurture talent within the team and provide feedback via monthly and yearly evaluations
  • oversee hotel staffing to ensure efficient workforce management
  • maintain the hotel environment and building to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable experience in accordance with citizenM brand promises
  • demonstrate exceptional product knowledge of canteenM, societyM meeting room and self-service rooftop bar, overseeing F&B revenue targets and purchasing of all food and beverage items and hotel operating equipment
  • manage stock in line with fluctuating levels of business, minimise waste  and analyse a monthly stock report
  • regularly virtual meetings with the support office, discussing the financial performance of the hotel, payroll, invoicing, human resources, maintenance and housekeeping 
  • maximise revenue opportunities and control costs in line with budgets, while providing added value to hotel guests
  • represent citizenM within the Amsterdam area, promoting the company’s first property in the Dutch market to an external audience in support of growth
  • establish and maintain strong relationships with local strategic partners and third parties inc. but not limited to local government, resident associations, tenants & industry associations


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • solid managerial experience
  • enjoy being in a dynamic hands-on work environment
  • open and positive team leader
  • ensure a working understanding of legislation that governs the operation of a hotel and its activities in The Netherlands: including employment law, health and safety, food safety, alcohol licensing, first aid and fire safety
  • excellent level of English, any other additional language is considered a plus

location & hours
The position will be based at citizenM Amsterdam properties, and will require travel to our support office in Voorschoten and other citizenM properties from time to time. This is a full-time position.
