Position: Sustainability Manager
Base Location:  Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands
Department:  Sustainability
Reports into:  Director of Engineering

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Oversee waste management operations at the Waste Center; composting, glass crushing, plastics recycling
• Oversee operations at the vegetable farm and fruit orchard
• Provide strategic oversight, measurement, and evaluation of sustainability projects and initiatives
• Chair the COMO Approach committee and action local and group-wide sustainability initiatives
• Partner with Recreation, Excursion, and Play by COMO teams to create and improve activities, focused on the guest experience.
• Conduct monthly reporting of all sustainability metrics on the island and liaise regularly with the Sustainability team in Singapore
• Collaborate with departments to develop a strong communication strategy and curate storytelling opportunities to inspire our Guests and other audiences through a sustainability lens
• Develop and execute educational activities centered on sustainability for Play by COMO
• Conduct regular training sessions for employees on sustainability topics

Key requirements:

• Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences
• Experience working in environmental sustainability, conservation, or corporate social responsibility
• Experience working with aquatic/marine and/or terrestrial collections
• Demonstrated strong communication skills
• Experience working with international conservation groups
• Experience developing biodiversity management and conservation strategies
• Understanding of the human dimensions of conservation
• Ability to develop strong relationships to achieve outcomes
• Demonstrated media experience, education, and presentation abilities
• Experienced in goal setting and execution as well as measuring deliverables
• Proven skilled generalist with experience working across sectors
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude and a passion for conservation
• Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly if necessary
