We are currently looking for a Plasterer & Tiler to work on full time basis.
Job Description
Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools
Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilising tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels
Align tiles and straighten them with levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise
Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results
Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly
Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
Make on-site preparations such as scaffolding, covering fixtures and fittings etc.
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint.
Preparation of drain works including installation of pipe works & water supply to areas prior to tiling
Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material when required (e.g. plaster)
Plaster walls and gypsum boards with plaster and/or finitura
Replacement of gypsum boards and finishing including plastering and paint
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint.
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
Apply varnish and other finishes.
Follow and adhere to all Health and Safety precautions
Requirements
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Driving Licence B
Strong manual skills
Accuracy, precision and attention to detail
Be conscientious with great attention to detail.
Have good time management skills.
Be reliable and work both independently or as part of a team.
Excellent written and communication skills in English.Any Certificates available will be assets.
