The Impact of this Role

The Manager, FBI, APAC plays a pivotal role in evaluating economically viable new hotel projects for hotel management contracts as well as new hotel investment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed pro forma packs, preliminary and quick look pro formas, facilities outline and valuations
  • Conduct market feasibility studies, financial feasibility studies and investment analysis for new hotel projects
  • Work closely with Development and Design & Project Services teams to prepare draft facilities outline and preliminary area programs
  • Work with Finance and Legal departments to implement latest valuation and taxation guidelines for valuing all projects
  • Lead internal proformas approval calls with key disciplines. Leading external calls with consultants and owners to defend RHG’s projections.
  • Maintain excellent working relationship with respective regional approvers (Finance & Operations), and Sales & Marketing to process all project pro forma reviews and approvals
  • Assist other FBI team members in preparation of all types of financial models as required, using and refining our in-house templates.
  • Train new members of the FBI team
  • Contributing to development strategies and target markets for development growth globally
  • Hotel master planning and area program specification in line with expectations of the development team and owners/developers
  • Maintain extensive global research database for use by Feasibility & Business Intelligence and other teams
  • Performing market research and competitor analysis across the region, updating hotel supply databases and tracking new signings and announcements.
  • Attend regional industry conferences and maintain good working relationships with consultants, developers, and other feasibility and development teams

Critical Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of overall work experience, including two (2) years of experience in a hospitality consulting, asset management, feasibility and/or investment analysis functions; or exposure to perform the requisite functions above
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Hotel Management, Business Administration or Finance
  • In-depth knowledge of key urban and leisure hotel markets in the Asia Pacific region
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision; perform work that is highly complex in nature and have latitude for actions and decisions without review
  • Working knowledge of Uniform System of Accounts for Hotels
  • Understanding of principles of highest and best use and land economics
  • Understanding and application of principles of corporate finance and real estate finance
  • Strong analytical acumen and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and experience in financial modelling
  • Excellent command of English.
