To begin in 2024, Rosewood Amsterdam is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Security Manager who is a well-rounded and seasoned individual to be part of our award-winning team.

Job Summary

In this role the Security Manager will be responsible for managing the day-today operations of the Security department, dealing with matters relating to Health and Safety with a focus on delivering an engaging, intuitive, and refined service to all associates.

The Security Manager will:

  • Maintain comprehensive key controls and audits and carries out relevant investigations and reporting of any irregularities using agreed reporting structures in place.
  • Ensure that regular CCTV system audits are carried out in to ensure optimum operation
  • Be responsible for the control and management of the department
  • Ensure that all allegations of crime and other incidents are investigated, recorded and reported to the relevant personnel by the completion of required paperwork in line with current procedure and law.
  • Ensure that all follow up investigations and interviews are completed in a timely manner and all relevant parties are communicated via the relevant channels.
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with the local police, and any other pertinent civil authorities
  • Evaluate performance of security personnel and advises improvement in line with business excellence.
  • Be familiar with all working security systems and to update knowledge when required.
  • Attend court and give evidence when required
  • Be responsible for the accurate record of Found/lost Property Procedures including the property deposited, audited and secured within Security Department for safekeeping or any return of properties.
  • Report any irregularities with regards incidents involving hotel issues.
  • Be familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and evacuation and to ensure prompt decision making in line with the safety and security of guests and colleagues.
  • Thoughtfully exercise initiative in decision-making and alerts or informs related executives as situations require
  • Carry out the function of Departmental Trainer and is responsible for the training and orientation of departmental inductees
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of security officers.
  • Ensure security officers are provided with resources for their optimal performance of duty, e.g. functions list, guest list.
  • Raise PO’s for approval whilst observing the budgetary constraints of the department
  • Be responsible for the running of the department in all areas including training, people management, people development, policy implementation, investigations and procedural accountability.


Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with a full command of Dutch and English.
  • Knowledge of CCTV operations.
  • Knowledge of firefighting and safe evacuation
  • Knowledge of fire and emergency training
  • Knowledge of criminal and health and safety Investigation.
  • Relevant report writing skills, planning and organization skills
  • Basic Computer Skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A proven track record of working well on own initiative and as part of a team

A valid work permit for the Netherlands is needed to be considered for this position.

About Us

Rosewood Amsterdam will open in 2024 as Rosewood’s first property in the Netherlands. Housed in the former Palace of Justice, a building of great architectural, historical and social significance that overlooks the Prinsengracht (the Prince’s Canal), one of the city’s most beautiful waterways, in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Amsterdam Canal District. The hotel will be ideally situated near many of Amsterdam’s finest attractions including the museum district, the high-end shopping district on P.C. Hooftstraat and the hip De Pijp neighborhood. With its central location and an intuitive design carefully conceived to offer an inviting and amiable atmosphere, the property is poised to serve as an unparalleled gathering place for visiting guests and the local community alike. The property will offer 134 guestrooms and suites, with many boasting spectacular views across the two adjoining canals, quiet internal courtyards and iconic townhouse rooftops. Amenities will include three restaurants and bars; Sense, A Rosewood Spa; a state-of-the-art fitness center; and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, multiple event spaces and meeting rooms, including a 3,000 square-foot ballroom, will offer advanced audio and visual services and natural daylight. Decorative details throughout the hotel’s public spaces will pay homage to the signature spirit of both the building and city while creating a selection of differentiated yet unified spaces through subtle albeit impactful means, such as contrasting color schemes that seamlessly separate one setting from another. Notably, the lobby lounge will feature a library adorned with beautiful legal books doubling as art pieces, photographs and artifacts, as well as comfortable and stylish seating, to create an enticing enclave that will invite visitors to linger and laze. All public spaces will overlook the three distinct, internal landscaped courtyards of the building.
