Job Qualifications

 

1.      Age Requirements (Preferably between the age of 25 to 35)

2.      Education Requirements (Must complete GCSE O-Level, preferably with a diploma or degree in Hospitality Management)

3.      Language Requirements (Must be fluent in English, local language an added advantage)

4.      Skills Requirements (Proficient in MS Office, PMS, HR Tracking System and Material Control System)

5.      Work Experience Requirements (Minimum 3 years in Housekeeping Department as a Supervisor)


Responsibilities

 

General Operations

› Ensures that all Housekeeping ambassadors perform duties following hotel policy.

› Supervises the daily activities of all Housekeeping ambassadors to ensure compliance with Housekeeping procedures and service standards.

› Offers maximum assistance to all Housekeeping ambassadors to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the department.

› Ensures high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene with clean and pressed uniforms and name badge (if applicable) as described in the ambassador handbook for all Housekeeping ambassador.

› Conduct briefings and meetings with the team regularly so that all the information’s are shared across the team for daily operations.

› Provides Housekeeping ambassadors with current information regarding resort special events, functions, promotions and ensures that the ambassadors can provide the information to the guest when required.

› Provides Housekeeping ambassadors with current information on emergency procedures relating to fire, theft, accident, medical emergency and other threats to resort and guest security.

› Prepares monthly statistical reports as required.

› Supervise the records, storage and return of lost and found property with Coordinator.

› Ensure minibar stock, inventory and procedures are being followed by all relevant ambassadors.

› Ensure that the daily inspection program / monthly schedule implemented by AEHK / EHK for guest rooms, back of the house, public areas and laundry are followed accordingly to ensure areas are clean and supplied with all required amenities and supplies.

› Maintains a high standard of hygiene and sanitation throughout all service areas.

› Liaises with Front Office and Engineering to recommend and co-ordinate all improvements to the villas and public areas and assist Front Office with the room blocking.

› Ensures that the rooms undergo preventive maintenance regularly and monitors the progress work with Engineering Department.

› Ensure daily maintenance report is being made and follow up with Engineering for pending works on the following day.

› Ensures all occupied rooms are serviced on time and vacant rooms are cleaned, ready for any villa moves or additional arrivals.

› Once the villas are inspected with a checklist, the AEHK shall inspect the villa based on his / her availability during operational hours to ensure the highest standard is achieved.

› AEHK shall, in turn, communicate to EHK before he/she performs the final inspection before arrival and especially for VIP guests.

› Ensure that pest controlling record and activity is carried regularly and all the areas are in proper condition about pest and insects.

› Coordinate with any outsource service vendors such as chemical vendors, etc in the absences of AEHK or EHK.

› Conducts regular inventories of linens, supplies, amenities and uniforms.

› Maintains required par stock of linen, equipment and general supplies for the efficiency and smooth operation of the department.

› Ensures that proper care of equipment machines and tools are taken and the record is maintained monthly.

› Respond to guest request and immediately handle the problems and complaints related to all housekeeping functions to maximise guest satisfaction.

› Guide Housekeeping ambassadors in dealing with guest problems and complaints and to ensure that these are being minimized.

› Review guest feedback and offer a solution to increase the efficiency of the department.

› To be in charge of Laundry in the absence of Laundry Manager and coordinates with Laundry Supervisor on the efficiency of the laundry operation.

› Ensures that a proper uniform and linen procedure is followed by all ambassadors about the issue of new uniforms and linen.

› Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper based on operational needs.

 

Financial and Administration

›   Assist EHK & AEHK in preparing a yearly budget for the department following the business plan with coordination from Finance.

›   Rigorously monitor and implement methods and measures to control departmental expenses to achieve financial targets and objectives.

›   Ensure all necessary resources and material are readily available and par stock is maintained in stores in coordination with Purchasing and Stores.

›   Complies with the Property’s purchasing and stores requisitioning procedure in respect of internal and external supplies.

›   Ensures energy and cost-saving measures are implemented in all areas under Housekeeping continuously.

›   Ensures that rosters and overtime is managed appropriately according to operational needs.

 

Human Capital Development

›     Organize monthly gathering for the team and actively participates in all team events.

›     Assist with orientation, training and other special courses when required.

›     Lead by example, inspires and motivates those around through enthusiasm.

›     Inspires and guides others to make their decisions based on the organization's values and overall direction, keeping the Company’s goals in mind.

›     Conducts performance appraisals for direct reporting ambassadors and guides Supervisors to conduct the performance appraisals by preparing guidelines and time frames for improvement.

›     Participates in training related to the job.

›     Identifies the training needs, compiles and approve training materials or programs in coordination with the Human Resource department together with AEHK & EHK.

›     Ensure that training hour records are up to date and completed within the time frame in the department.

›     Train and motivates ambassador in coordination with the Human Resource to achieve the highest standard of service and guest satisfaction.

›     Guide and deal with ambassador disciplinary issue according to the guidelines provided in Human Resource.

           

Policies and Procedures

›     Maintains a high standard of appearance and grooming standards at all times, as per company guidelines.

›     Apply and adhere to rules and regulations as per Ambassadors handbook, departmental and Property policies and procedures, including those for the emergencies.

›     Develop and maintain an understanding of the overall organization’s mission, vision, and values.

›     Professionally handles any guest’s complaint, as per Property’s Policy & Procedures.

›     Practices proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and Property’s guests.

›     Ensures all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law.

                         

Health and Safety

›     Maintains the highest levels of personal hygiene at all times.

›     To ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all work areas.

›     To be fully aware of all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.

›     Responsible to report any potentially hazardous situations within the workplace.
