Job Description – Hotel Operations Manager

We are looking for a practical, friendly and organised Hotel Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of Maya Moon Lodge while the owners spend some time away.

This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of a small independent hotel and restaurant, including:

  • Supervising and supporting our local team
  • Guest relations and resolving day-to-day issues
  • Overseeing reception, reservations and booking systems
  • Supporting restaurant and bar operations
  • Monitoring cash, costs and basic financial performance
  • Maintaining guest-service and property standards
  • Coordinating maintenance when required
  • Communicating regularly with the owners

Previous General Manager experience is not essential. We would particularly welcome an Assistant Manager or Supervisor with around 2–3 years' hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step.

Applicants should have fluent English and good conversational Spanish, be financially aware, organised, practical and confident working independently.

Minimum commitment: Ideally 6 months, with potential to stay longer.

Accommodation: Maya Moon Lodge

Salary/package: Package: Q5,000 per month, above the current local statutory minimum wage, plus private on-site accommodation with its own kitchen, 2 meals per working day (5 days a week), staff tips and 2 days off per week.
