We are growing and looking for experienced:


  • Pastry Chefs


MJM Production Limited is currently looking for experienced Pastry Chefs to join our production team in Malta.


We are seeking reliable, skilled, and motivated professionals with a strong background in pastry production, desserts, cakes, creams, doughs, baked goods, and finishing techniques.


The selected candidates will be responsible for preparing and producing high-quality pastry items according to company standards, recipes, production schedules, hygiene procedures, and food safety requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


• Prepare and produce pastries, desserts, cakes, creams, doughs, baked goods, and related pastry products.

• Follow company recipes, production standards, and preparation procedures.

• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, quality, presentation, and portioning.

• Carry out daily mise en place and production duties in an organised and efficient manner.

• Monitor baking times, temperatures, ingredients, and product finishing.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times.

• Follow HACCP procedures, allergen control, and food handling regulations.

• Store, label, and rotate ingredients correctly.

• Reduce waste through proper planning, portioning, and storage.

• Work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment.

• Support the team during busy production periods.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.

• Perform any other pastry production duties required by the company.


Candidate Requirements:


• Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Commis, Chef de Partie Pastry, or similar role.

• Good knowledge of pastry production, baking methods, creams, fillings, cakes, desserts, and finishing.

• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality standards.

• Good understanding of food hygiene, food safety, and HACCP procedures.

• Food Handling certification is considered an asset and may be required depending on the role.

• Skills Pass certification may be required where applicable.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Reliable, punctual, clean, and well-organised.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Good communication skills in English.

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
