Job Description

The Reservations Sales Coordinator is an integral part of the reservations team as they take care of all specific corporate reservations, leisure travel guests and group support. This ensures consistency in handling all our reservations and ensures our information is correct in the PMS/CRS.

What you will be doing:

  • Answers the Reservations / Corporate Partners telephone line, and uses professional communication skills, sales technique, and reservation standards to maximize revenue and create positive customer experiences. 
  • Maintains positive relationships with key corporate partners and travel agents by responding to customer inquiries, improving processes, and participating in relationship building activities
  • Responds to e-mail and written inquiries in a professional business manner, using appropriate grammar, sentence structure, and letter structure.  Drives revenue by integrating sales techniques into written correspondence.
  • Works with clients to troubleshoot issues relating to distribution systems.
  • Assists with the timely payment of travel agent commissions and responds to travel agent commission inquiries.
  • Ensures the daily checklist is completed.
  • Acts as a liaison between the hotel and the Global Reservations Centre, taking ownership for troubleshooting issues and streamlining communication.
  • Assisting with group-related reservation activity (rooming lists, etc.)
  • Responsible for accurate reservations checks in order to ensure smooth, fast and efficient check in
  • Assists with weekly reservations reports
  • Carries out other special projects and duties as assigned.
  • Adhering to all colleague health and safety responsibilities
  • Adhering to the hotel’s environmental policies and procedures


Qualifications

  • Previous customer related experience is required
  • Previous Property Manager System experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • At least one year hotel or office experience, preferably in Front Office or guest contact position.
  • Epitomises a professional business manner, demonstrating an ability to communicate professionally both verbally in and in writing.
  • Strong Ability to use sales technique and relationship-building skills to drive positive business results.   Must be “Recommended” in Reservations Sales Agent Perceiver Interview, and show strength in relationship building and sales ability.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of responsibility and accountability, making strong independent business decisions when necessary.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy on Property Manager, Excel, Word, Outlook. With a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute. CRS (Central Reservations System) experience an asset.
  • Commitment to provide excellent guest service that exceeds expectations, with a history of responding empathetically and with urgency to guests’ and team needs.
  • Ability to effectively solve problem and make decisions in a personable and self-confident manner.
  • Proven ability to remain focused and service-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team-member
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job
  • Shows strong initiative
