Independent Working Chef (level 1)

We are seeking a passionate and eager-to-learn chef who enjoys working independently in a dynamic environment. As an Independent Working Chef at Ah Tim, you will be responsible for preparing authentic Asian dishes and organizing daily kitchen operations under the guidance of our head chef.

You will work according to established instructions regarding ingredients, recipes, methods, and presentation. You monitor the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes and ensure an efficient and structured workflow. In addition, you will supervise kitchen assistants and contribute to strong teamwork.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.)
• Performing intermediate quality checks (doneness, taste, color, etc.) and making adjustments where necessary
• Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene standards
• Managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries
• Daily cleaning of the work environment, kitchen equipment, and workstations
• Reporting technical issues and resolving minor malfunctions
• Contributing ideas for menu composition, updates, and working methods

• Ability to take initiative and work independently with a problem-solving mindset
• Confident, responsible, and proactive attitude
• MBO Level 3 working and thinking level (vocational education equivalent)
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene and HACCP guidelines
