Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

• Supervise the room cleaning & hygiene of the department.
• Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of equipment, immediately reporting any defects.
• Rotate the employees to different jobs whenever considered necessary.
• Eliminate all work hazards to employees and also check on safety and fire regulations.
• Supervise the appearance and good manners of the employees and secures their cooperation.
• Ensure that there is ample stock of guest amenities, chemicals and all other items required by the department.
• Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
• Maximise employee productivity in order to minimise payroll cost.
• Check punctuality of all staff assigned to them.
• Perform the duties of the Head Housekeeper their absence.
• Possess a general knowledge of guest room activities.
• Know how to use the chemicals and cleaning equipment/Machines.
• Teach and train subordinates continuously in order to upgrade quality and production in a professional way:
• Get involve with energy saving.
• Ensure the communication between all departments and sections is done properly.
• Maintain the high standard of quality provided to guests and other departments.
• Ensure all procedures are followed properly.
• Ensure a smooth operation to prevent and avoid any complaints.
• Check work delegated to his subordinates and corrects any mistakes immediately.
• Establish and maintain effective employee relationships to the staff, keeping them motivated.
• Implement effective skill training programs in conjunction with the Training Manager and the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
• Replace any Room attendant when requested by Executive Housekeeper or Head Housekeeper.

Qualifications

Qualification:

• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resort is a plus.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.
• At least 1 year of professional experience on a similar position is a plus.

Technical skills:

• Good knowledge with cleaning and maintenance.
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
• Excellent organisational and team management skills.
• Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
• Good time management
• Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
