Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- The ability to assist in the hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, disciplining and planning of activities of maintenance department personnel.
- The ability to participate in the employee performance reviews process.
- The ability to assist in ensuring that effective preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- The ability to assist in planning and implementing procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient maintenance department.
- The ability to directly supervise personnel in carrying out work schedules as well as spot checking to verify quality and employee performance.
- The ability to maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools.
- The ability to maintain par stocks and the distribution of items.
- The ability to ensure timely and accurate sub meter, chemical treatment and engine room logs.
- The ability to handle the purchasing of equipment replacement parts and repairs. This includes contacting vendors for best prices, writing purchase orders, receiving goods and completing projects.
- The ability to ensure that work order/request system is properly executed and that items from the logbook are followed up on when necessary.
- The ability to assist in developing and updating comprehensive departmental policies and manuals.
- The ability to ensure that all meter readings on heat, light and power are taken on a daily basis and reviewed for consumption.
- The ability to assist in compiling a monthly consumption report on heat, light and power to include electricity, gas, steam and water.
- The ability to set-up fire line safety system, valve locations and other emergency procedures that involves the department.
- The ability to ensure effective communication and good relations between the maintenance department and other departments in the hotel.
- The ability to ensure all areas of the hotel are patrolled and inspected on a regular basis.
- The ability to ensure all maintenance personnel are in uniform and well groomed.
- The ability to ensure timely completion of all assigned responsibilities.
- The ability to assist in developing and maintaining an energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.
- The ability to prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise efficiently with the Director of Engineering on such matters.
- The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four
- Seasons Hotels and encourage staff to do the same.
- The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
- The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
- The ability to attend and participate in all required meetings.
- The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency of safety situation.
- The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
