We are seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality and possess a keen attention to detail to join our Housekeeping Team as Assistant Director of Housekeeping!

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping ensures our guest accommodation, and all areas front and back of house are maintained in a spotless condition at all times. They assume a very "hands on" management of the day to day operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department by establishing and controlling planned cleaning schedules, and working closely with the Front Office to ensure that guest accommodations are ready in a timely manner to Four Seasons standards. They assist with training and supervision of Housekeeping staff and assume responsibility for the Department in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the staff of the Housekeeping Department.  Interviews, trains and schedules the staff.  Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.  Ensures communications and follow-up on any problems, guest requests or special requirements.
  • Establishes detailed cleaning and preventive maintenance programs to ensure appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment. 
  • Sets and maintains high standards of cleanliness. Monitors staff’s activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met. Inspects all areas of responsibility daily. Works directly with outside contracted companies to assure quality and timeliness of work.
  • Resolves customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. 
  • Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinates the housekeeping needs of hotel guests.  Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.
  • Assures the financial goals of the department are being met. Monitors and controls labor expense and other divisional expenses such as Uniforms, Linen, Guest Supplies, Cleaning Supplies and Contract Services. 
  • Establishes and maintains accurate inventory records. Participates in periodic Linen, Uniform and Supplies Inventories. 
  • Recommends appropriate actions passed on results of inventory.  Assures that equipment is properly maintained.  Prepares annual budget for labor and operating expense. Assures effective operation of the Laundry/Valet Department.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum three years Luxury Experience in Housekeeping, in a management capacity
  • College degree preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills
  • Candidate must be fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and ability to operate various electronic systems
  • Service Passion for Luxury Hospitality
  • Requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills


Visa Requirements:

Visa sponsorship is not available. Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States. Applicants without valid work authorization for the United States will not be considered.

US work authorization is required unless candidate is currently in a managerial position at a Four Seasons location. Current Four Seasons managers may qualify for L-1 visa sponsorship.
