The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo is looking for an Assistant Superintendent, who has strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills, could prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, and has a passion for service.
The Asst. Superintendent assumes a supporting role in managing and maintaining the golf course, to attain the highest standards for member and guest satisfaction.
The Assistant Superintendent in charge of maintaining the golf course. The main duties of the job are working directly with the
Superintendent, daily course scheduling, supervising all employees and projects, efficiency management, obtaining an eye for
detail, strong agronomic background, water management, computer skills and consistently meeting the demands of the
membership.
Role and Responsibilities:
Working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent
Daily scheduling of all duties to be performed
Manage and supervise all task taking place on the golf course
Speak conversational Spanish
In depth agronomic knowledge in all chemicals, fertilizers, and water management
Experience using Rain bird irrigation software and system.
Excels in communication of all issues observed verbally and written
Experience with all forms of chemical applications
Mechanical knowledge of mowers, tractors, motors, etc.
Proper sprayer and spreader calibration techniques
Administrative responsibilities will include: managing vacation days, permissions and absences.
Assist in budgeting
Project development and execution
Willing and able to work a very flexible schedule.
Inventory forecasting
Purchasing
Qualifications and Education Requirements
4 year Bachelor degree or 2 Year Certificate in Turf Management
Minimum of 2 years of experience working on a golf course
Computer skills
Spanish speaking and English (preferable)
