Join the pre-opening team of Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol as Pastry Sous Chef.  On the stunning southern coast of Mexico’s Baja peninsula, experience Cabo’s Golden Corridor, ideally located between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.  In the heart of all the action, the coveted community of Cabo Del Sol is home to our modern hacienda-style village, with sparkling ocean views throughout. Create magical memories as hearts beat to the rhythm of Mexican music, art and culture – embraced by the warmth of our Four Seasons “familia.” This ultra-luxury ocean-front resort will include 96 beautifully appointed guestrooms and 61 Residences,  Amenities will include three restaurants, five bars, three pools, an open-air fitness center designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, Spa with ten treatment rooms and relaxation oasis, and The Clubhouse.  The Clubhouse is perched above the resort with sweeping Ocean views, and it is being designed as THE place to host spectacular weddings and events for up to 250 people.  It will feature and event lawn for ceremonies, an indoor/outdoor ballroom, living room space for entertaining, and a bridal suite.

The role of the Restaurant Chef

The Pastry Sous Chef will coordinate the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees in the Kitchen’s bakery/pastry shop through effective management and leadership to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met. 

 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • At least 4 years of Culinary Experience with 2 years leadership experience in a pastry kitchen 
  • Must be creative and innovative to ensure continuous evolution of offerings. 
  • A sincere willingness to provide service to residents, guests, and peers. 
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions. 
  • High work ethic, with a sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team.


Essential Functions 

1.    Responsible for long-range strategic planning for outlet operation 

2.    Assist in the planning and development of menus for the Resort, ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration 

3.    Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control. 

4.    Ensure that sanitation standards as set forth by Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. 

5.    Set up control systems which will assure quality and portion consistency and the ability to create proper purchasing specifications as well as monitor and review operating criteria and develop an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality. 

6.    Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. 

7.    Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
