Our ideal candidate will have experience with relevant tools and equipment, and some exposure to industries.

Job will oversee property maintenance of grounds, building facilities and guest rooms. Responsible for daily cleaning and  general property management upkeep, HVAC,  preventive maintenance, small repair, plumbing, and tasks, special projects, and communicating larger maintenance needs to the General Manager.

 

 

 

Your day to day

Can you stay one step ahead of maintenance challenges to make our guests’ safety and comfort your number one priority?We’re searching for a Head of Maintenance that goes further to make sure his team always puts safety first.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Managing daily maintenance needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task

•Complete minor repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipelines, toilets, sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment, etc.

•Perform preventative maintenance duties as detailed in the hotel preventative maintenance calendar.

•Provide Preventive Maintenance to 2 rooms each day.

•Ensure Preventive Maintenance repairs in the following areas:

Lighting; Electrical circuits and wiring; Plumbing; HVAC; Guest room walls; Appliances; Doors and locks; Furniture; Floor coverings.

•Repair toilets, sinks, laundry equipment, icemakers, electrical appliances, and lighting systems, and have experience with all tools necessary to perform these tasks.

•Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues.

•Ensure Guest Laundry washers, dryers, vending machines and common areas are cleaned daily. Maintain clean, organized maintenance workshop.

•Ensure that assigned equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work.

•Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guest entrance/access doors, television sets, and lighting systems.

•Make minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure things are working properly and efficiently at all times.

•Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters

•Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed.

•Maintain front entrance area, parking area and/or garage, and ensure street entrance is a clean and presentable.

•Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility, grounds, pool, and exercise/sport facilities (including property signs and lighting).

•Ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc

•using established hotel procedures.

•Replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimize waste

•Follow established safety procedures at all times.

•Aiding housekeeping with linen pick up, clean up and other tasks as assigned

•Basic janitorial skill such as moping, sweeping, cleaning, window cleaning, etc.

•Ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.

•Immediately report any health and safety incident, unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or manager on duty.

•Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions and/or requests to ensure guest satisfaction.

•Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure.

•Excellent quality and service.

•Assist with other duties as assigned.

 

What we need from you

● Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
● Hotel experience preferred.

●Prior experience in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc. Must have own tools. Minimum of two years building maintenance experience in hospitality or similar fast-paced environment with high quality.

●General knowledge of heating, air conditioning, electric and plumbing skills.

●Knowledge and ability to use basic work tools and equipment.

●Ability to patch holes, clean carpets, and paint walls.

●Ability to bend at waist and work on knees. Ability to reach overhead. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk three flights of stairs. Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather. Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds occasionally.

●Knowledge of pool maintenance.

●Respond to guest calls and complaints in a timely and courteous manner and resolve all issues while maintaining the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism.

●Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service-orientated environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.

●Be a dedicated team player, able to work cooperatively with other maintenance personnel as well as housekeeping and front desk associates.

●Be able to communicate effectively with Hotel guests and coworkers.

●Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

●Ability to work well under limited supervision & Ability to work well with others. Has a strong work ethic.
