What’s the job?

Working as a Sous Chef, the position plays a key role in managing all kitchen operations including stewarding operations with an emphasis on maintaining hygienic standard and practices, staff training, and oversee preparation of food product. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity for a creative individual to influence the food offerings of a premium essential hotel, driving client/ guest engagement, loyalty, and revenue growth. You’ll have ambition, talent, and some essential skills. We’re seeking someone passionate about developing skills and knowledge, with a strong focus on driving hotel revenue through guests dining experience.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Support the F&B Manager and assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Kitchen department, including the Culinary & Stewarding teams.
  • Involved in preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts 
  • Ensure that each kitchen and stewarding is supervised and managed accordingly to ensure total accountability for their productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all recipes and product yields are accurately costed and reviewed on a regular base.
  • Ensure that all food items and dishes are prepared as per standard recipe cards whilst maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure that guests are always receiving an exceptional dining experience representing true value for money.
  • To spend time in Silk Route All-day Dining (during peak periods) to ensure that the operation is managed well by the outlet team and engage with regular guests.
  • To be demanding and constructively critical in food preparation, presentation and service standards to ensure the highest quality is delivered at all times


What we need from you

The ideal candidate must meet the legal requirements to work in the UAE. The candidate will have two (2) years’ experience in a similar role; Exceptional communication skills; ability to interact with guests, colleagues, and third parties that reflects highly on each Hotel, the brand and the company. 

Must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a premium essential hotel. Well-developed capability for strategic decision-making and a track record of proven results in the areas of guest satisfaction, operational excellence, host satisfaction, revenue and profit. Ability to take ownership and work across multiple projects with deadlines. Ability to work on projects and stakeholder relationships; and they must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team; strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective time management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
