The Hotel

With 326 guest rooms including 31 suites, Mandarin Oriental, Miami is located in Brickell Key and is a prime location for both business and leisure guests. It is an urban resort with a Miami’s only private beach and Florida’s only Forbes triple 5-star property.

Scope of Position

The Bell Person is responsible for, but not limited to, completely delighting our guests by providing exceptional customer service, orientation, luggage / package / newspaper assistance and by maintaining and manning the Bell Desk, offering assistance when needed.

Organisational Structure

The Bell Person will report directly to the Bell Captain and Assistant Front Office Manager. There are no functional positions reporting to the Bell Person.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities

1. Support company's philosophy and company culture using Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
2. Support company's philosophy and company culture using Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
3. Support company's philosophy and company culture using Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
4. Relay all guest comments and concerns to Guest Services Managers / FOM’s / FOS to ensure proper follow-up
5. Proactively gather guest profile information and preferences

6. Act on guest profile information, as instructed, to completely delight our guests
7. Ensure open communication with all Bell / Door / FO / Concierge and PBX colleagues to communicate and complete all Guest Services guest requests – check-ins, checkouts, deliveries, package handling, room moves, etc.
8. Have knowledge of all groups and events in-house as pertains to bell requests and arrangements.
9. Present Positive Impression of establishment meeting grooming standards, keeping an optimistic and positive attitude at all times.
10. Protect privacy of guests and co-workers at all times.
11. Follow safety guidelines at all times
12. Be a team player
13. Perform duties within a time management guideline.
14. Process and handle guest calls, as assigned
15. Keep Bell Stand stocked with sufficient stock of materials and supplies.
16. Attend Handover meetings in a timely manner, attentive and ready to take responsibility and ownership of issues presented.
17. Proactively brief arriving shift concerning any unfinished guest requests as shifts end.
18. Secure guest valuables from rooms, WITH SECURITY ONLY, as requested.
19. Operate simple office equipment, if not in working order notifying manager.
20. Refer all guest requests regarding local events and attraction to concierge desk to ensure that appropriate and accurate arrangements are made for guests.
21. Arrange valet and taxi services guests as requested
22. Additional duties include but are not limited to:
• Providing lost and found services
• Store and retrieve luggage
• Handling, tracking and delivery of incoming and outgoing packages
• Flexible schedule availability to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
• Complete special assignments as instructed by Bell Captain and / or Manager
