About Talent and Culture

The Talent & Culture team attracts, develops and rewards the most important asset of the company: Our Associates. The Global Headquarter is in Hong Kong and we collaborate closely with brands around the world to bring to life the philosophy of Relationship Hospitality and pursue world-leading practices in people operations.

Impact of this role

Responsible for aligning business objectives with associates and leadership in the business. The position formulates partnerships across the Talent and Culture functions to deliver value-added service to leaders and associates that supports organizational objectives and drive talent strategies. Also responsible for developing and executing efficient performance management practices and strategies that maximize associate performance, support their development and support organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Partner

  • Partners with Talent & Culture functions and ensures seamless execution of all Talent & Culture programs to drive operational success and performance.
  • Develops and implements localized Talent & Culture strategies and initiatives to achieve organizational objectives, vision, mission, and goals.
  • Manages staffing, performance management, workforce and succession planning processes for corporate divisions.
  • Ensures compliance training is executed and monitored, talent compass (succession planning) is reviewed regularly, and talent development of associates is carried out through participation of relevant training and development programs.
  • Counsels and advises leaders on associate relations’ issues such as policy interpretation, disciplinary action, performance management, conflict resolution and complaints.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations of associate complaints or concerns.
  • Ensures treatment of associates is consistent with organizational values. Responsible for compliance with labour laws and regulations in the region.
  • Provides policy guidance and interpretation; develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers; and assists international associates with expatriate assignments and related Talent & Culture matters.
  • Provides supervision and leadership to and oversees the daily workflow of the Business Partner team.
  • Acts as a Brand Ambassador always and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained. Models the corporate culture, vision, mission, and core values of Rosewood Hotel Group.
2. Performance Management

  • Delivers an effective Performance Management process across Rosewood Hotel Group, globally, for both properties and corporate offices., globally. There will be opportunity to develop the current practice with a view to reshape the associate experience.
  • Develops and enhance the performance management processes and tools (e.g., objective setting, performance evaluation and calibration, process, and results documentation, etc.)
  • Links individual and team performance results to rewards, promotions, and development opportunities.
  • Creates performance frameworks (e.g., balanced scorecards, key performance indicators, etc.) to align individual and team goals with organization objectives and business results.
  • Develops and monitors performance management metrics (e.g., alignment between rating and compensation decisions, compliance with goal setting and review processes, etc.).
  • Trains leaders to reinforce the importance of associate development, reward high performance, and address under performance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).


3. Other Standard Responsibilities

  • Assists the Senior Director, Talent and Culture, APAC in providing talent & culture support to properties in the region.
  • Complies with company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proven project and change management leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese, Mandarin would be an advantage.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline and 7-10+ years human resources experience including previous business partner and performance management experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A broad experience and know-how of Human Resources disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and local labor laws.
  • Education and/or experience within the hospitality / luxury service industry would be an asset.
