The Washperson's duties include assisting with the day to day running of the Laundry department through preparing items for laundry. Other duties include but not limited to:
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform.
- Separate all laundry prior to washing.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment following procedures, including safety procedures, set by the Laundry Supervisor.
- Maintain the working areas and equipment in a clean and safe manner at all times.
- Adhere to all safety practices and standards for the operation of laundry equipment.
- In addition, other duties that may be assigned by your Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear and pleasant telephone communication to all callers.
- Ability to stand, squat, crouch, kneel and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical and chemical hazards.
- May be exposed to higher than normal noise levels.
- Ability to work in extreme heat.
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and hotel information at all times.
- Ability to work cohesively with other departments as part of a team
- Ability to perform basic mathematic computations
